Tod Dexter trained at Cakebread Cellars in Napa, spent ten years making Stonier into one of the Mornington's most celebrated labels, then led Yabby Lake before establishing Dexter with his wife Debbie in 2006 from vines he first planted in 1987. The Black Label is from the best parcels of the Tuerong estate: MV6, 777, D5V12 and Pommard clones. Dark cherry, blackberry, bay leaf and thyme. 97 points.
