The Hunter Valley's signature red in its finest expression. Vat 9 is a medium-bodied Shiraz from the region's red volcanic and sandy loam soils — earthy, savoury, and distinctly Hunter in character with notes of red fruits, leather, and a characteristic "sweaty saddle" earthiness that transforms into something transcendent with age. Best approached after five to ten years in the cellar.
