The flagship — and a benchmark for Australia's cool-climate Northern Rhône style. Former film director Julian Castagna planted his biodynamic Beechworth estate in 1997 on granitic soils at 500 metres in the foothills of the Victorian Alps. Genesis is Syrah fermented in egg-shaped concrete tanks and aged in French oak: violet, black pepper, structured tannins and extraordinary length. Released only when vintage smiles.
